Now I do understand why peoples in Indonesia like to travel to Singapore then to Bali. If talking about nature beauty, of course Bali is more beauty, by its culture, the beach and the friendliness of the people. But when we talk about the budget that we will spend, it's more cheaper and of course the prestige of being traveling overseas.
Nowadays so many airline offer low prices for airline tickets. But for this case, a cheap Airline tickets or hotel prices is exception so I don't compare it, because we can get it at those place. What I want to share here is about their transportation, that we must give a thumbs up for them (i give them 4 thumbs up include the big toe :-P). They have MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) which connecting one place to another. The rate of about 1-3 SGD, depending the distance traveled. So, lets take 3 SGD for the farthest distance means about 40 thousand rupiah for commute. Quiet cheap right?
In Bali, if you want to traveling, you can go by motorcycle or a car. The rate for rent them is about 50.000 IDR per day for a motorcycle and 200.000 IDR per day for a car, all this rate is exclude fuel. But, if the weather is not friendly, you will get wet in a motorcycle ^_^
In Singapore, the design of MRT line also access of the underground traffic line make peoples easily to mobile by walk to one place to another, without being exposed the sun. That underground traffic line is facilitated by an air conditioner and of course it is very comfortable to walk in it. It is also facilitated by tenants that provide many things. So you can walk, refreshing your eyes and of course... Shopping!! oh.. what a wonderful world :-)
And if you get tired, you can take a rest at the bench that provided, until you refill your energy to keep walking. Imagine if you walk so far at Jakarta, your skin will get burn by the sun :-D (btw, are there any sidewalks? @_@)
But for the Food, I can say that Indo's still the best. The variety menu at Singapore is quite good, but for the taste... i still have indo's tongue, that like a spicy and do not like a tasteless food.
Or... Did I pick the wrong place to eat? "Food republic" not a wrong place to eat I think, its recommended by people who has go there, I read it at their blogs.
Also about the chili crab, people said their chili crab is very good for the taste, but I think chili crab at seafood restaurant in Bandung is much delicious. Much much much... :)
But do not worry if you cannot eat those food, you still have a choice. A fast food counter not too hard to find.
One thing I like SG food court is they serve a vegetarian dishes. In People's Park Centre food court, Chinatown i can find two counter that serve vegetarian dishes, its help me a lot when I'm on vege day ('ce it' and 'cap go')
Oh, there's one thing to remember. If you like a spicy on your food, don't forget to bring chili by your self or a bottled of chili sauce made from Indonesia, I bet you have a great taste on your food. Enjoy!
Wanna cheap shopping??? just come to Lucky Plaza, Chinatown, Bugis street or to Mustafa Centre at little india. You can find anything you want with cost not too expensive. You can find a lot of things that you need i.e shoes, perfume, dress, shirt, key chain, etc.
If you have more budget for shopping, you can go to Orchard Road, you can find a lot of shopping center along the street. Takashimaya, Ion Orchard, Paragon, is some of the best choice. Just walk and walk, then you will see n find what you want. And of course, if it is looks good and cheap, buy it!! Just enjoy your shopping :)
Do not forget to have a picture with the merlion which located at the Merlion Park that fronts Marina Bay and front of The Fullerton Hotel.
The Merlion also located at sentosa island.
Have a nice trip and happy shopping :)
