祝你们中秋节快乐!
Happy Moon Cake Festival
Meskipun dah lewat bbrp hari, tp gak ada salahnya sharing ttg kue bulan ato moon cake. Lumayan dapet satu kotak besar isi 4 biji, hubby yg bawa pulang pas tgl 22 kmrn, hehe. Isinya macem2, ada rasa kacang dalemnya isi kuning telor asin, pandan, kacang hitam ama kacang tanpa telor asin. Yang paling enak sih yang ada telor asinnya, mantabbb.... ^_*
Here is the story behind the Moon Cake Festival or some people call it Mid Autumn Festival :
Among the many myths and legends connected the Mid Autumn Festival, perhaps the most popular of all is that of Chang Er.
Chang Er and her husband Hou Yi, a famous archer, lived during the reign of the legendary Emperor Yao (about 2000 BC). One day, 10 suns appeared in the sky. People on earth could not stand the resulting drought and Hou Yi was ordered to shoot nine suns out of the sky. The Emperor Yao rewarded Hou Yi with an eternal life pill.
When Hou Yi was called away on an urgent mission, Chang Er noticed a soft, light and sweet odour emanating from a corner of the room. Finding a pill, she took it in her hand, swallowed it and found that she could fly. Not too long afterwards, she heard her husband returning and flew in terror out of the window. Chang Er flew all the way to the moon, but when she arrived, she was panting so hard that she spat out the pill, which turned instantly into a jade rabbit, and she never returned. To commemorate this event, families gather on the 15th day of the eight lunar month every year to ensure family solidarity and enjoy moon cakes and tea.
